Internship FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost?
There is no direct cost, however, all interns are expected to help fund raise by identifying and contacting people or organizations who can support them financially and prayerfully.  Interns write letters to keep their supporters informed and involved on a monthly basis.

For both summer and academic year internships, room and board is provided.  Academic year interns also receive a monthly stipend.  Upon completion of the summer internship, a stipend of $1,500 will be awarded. For more information, please contact kristin@urbanpromisearkansas.org.

Where do I live?
Interns live in the UrbanPromise staff house, which is located in the community we serve.  You will share a bedroom with at least one other intern and take part in house meals and devotions.

Can I get college credit?
Yes, many colleges will give you credit for your internship with UrbanPromise.  We will be more than happy to work with you and your college to meet their internship requirements.

What is the schedule like?
You can expect to have a full, structured schedule during your internship.  While the schedule is busy, we have consistently found that the more you invest, the richer the intern experience is for you.

During the summer you can choose to participate in Saturday trips including trips to Memphis, Hot Springs, and other local places.  During the academic year, you will have some weekends free to use at your discretion.
